Subsea Wireless Telemetry System, Caspian Sea
Imenco were approached to provide a method of wirelessly reporting pressure, temperature and choke position on a Hydrate Remediation Skid (HRS) as an alternative to a permanent dropline deployed from topside.
Description of solution:
Imenco provided a subsea electronics pod, with internal rechargeable battery pack, interface to ROV operated on/off switch, and custom cable assembly to connect to an existing Teledyne ODi electrical connector on the HRS.
This allowed remote reading of 4 Pressure Transmitters, 3 Temperature Transmitters, and 1 Choke Position Indicator.
A custom user interface was designed to display live and trend view of 8 channels of data, with configurable warning and alarm conditions, and logging of data for future audit requirements.
This solution avoided need for an electrical downline, reducing time to mobilise equipment, reducing ROV requirement, and freeing up deck space required for a reeler.
