Imenco were approached to provide acoustic backup BOP controls for the Murphy Azurite Floating Drilling Production Storage and Offloading (FDPSO) vessel operating in the West Africa region.
Imenco NASeBOP equipment is the premier solution to acoustic BOP controls, providing robust and reliable wireless communications as backup to primary MUX controls. Should the umbilical fail, or primary controls be inaccessible, NASeBOP can be used to fire an Emergency Disconnect Sequence to allow the drilling utility to move away from the well in case of a blowout.
Should the EDS have been initiated, wireless communication enabled the option of SID status to be read post-disconnect, a capability not possible via wired umbilical connection.
