Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales and delivering technical expertise for a broad range of subsea and topside mechanical products and engineering services. This role serves as a key point of contact for clients, offering expert support from initial concept through project execution, while actively expanding business opportunities across the oil & gas, renewables, and subsea construction sectors.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through strategic market analysis and relationship development.
- Promote and sell the company’s portfolio of subsea, topside, and hydraulic mechanical products and engineering solutions. (Outward selling)
- Provide technical and consultancy support to clients throughout all project phases—from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) through decommissioning.
- Serve as a technical liaison between clients and internal teams including engineering, sales, manufacturing, and support.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Support product development initiatives and introduce new technologies to the market.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to support promotional campaigns and events.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, vendor visits, trade shows, and industry seminars.
- Contribute to process improvements and expansion into new markets.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related field and / or relevant operational experience.
- 5 – 10 years of experience in a technical sales, engineering consultancy, or business development role within the oil & gas or subsea sectors.
- Proven track record in subsea mechanical engineering.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Strong understanding of subsea technologies, systems, and lifecycle engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
