Business Development Manager – Marine & Naval Systems – Maryland, Virginia
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead business development efforts across the U.S. region. This role is responsible for expanding our customer base and sales, managing existing Marine & Naval clients, and drive the continued growth of the product line in the Naval and Commercial shipping sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical insight in video surveillance systems, ability to identify profitable growth opportunities, self-starter with robust planning and market engagement strategies, good communication skills and a track record of sales in the sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and execute regional market strategies, sales and booking plans to identify, forecast and secure new business opportunities.
- Expand our customer base within the U.S. market, focusing on Military Naval and Commercial Marine applications.
- Key focus on activities with Shipbuilders, Government Bodies (NAVAIR/NAVSEA/USCG/MSC), Defense and Commercial marine Integrators
- Present Imenco Marine & Naval product line capabilities to clients, host product demonstrations and conduct high-level scoping and interface discussions.
- Plan, attend and represent Imenco at industry conferences and exhibitions.
- Manage territory representatives sales planning, support and performance in the US and Canada as part of the regional business development strategy.
Client Relationship Management
- Manage and nurture relationships with all US clients including US Navy government bodies through regular video meetings and face to face visits.
- Develop new shipyards and system integrator relationships to expand the sales development opportunities.
Sales Team
- Participate in wider business development initiatives across product lines and regional geographies.
- Collaborate with other members of Imenco sales support team, both in the UK and US to ensure customer RFI’S/ RFQ’S are dealt with in timely manner.
- Take ownership of Imenco proposals and quotations for the region, regardless of it being a team effort to produce. Direct, review and issue to end customer
- Liaise with Imenco engineering teams in UK and US to ensure client technical questions are addressed and responded to accordingly.
- Ensure regional 3rd party representatives are sufficiently supported to facilitate projects within their territory to close sales.
Forecasting & Reporting:
- Provide regular sales booking forecast updates and opportunity plans.
- Report on market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level (or with equivalent experience) in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales/business development role preferably in Naval and or marine technology sectors.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Existing network of customer contacts in Marine and Naval sectors.
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Knowledge of visual surveillance products (subsea and CCTV), camera technology and video systems.
- Familiarity with IP based network systems

Technical & Software Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with Business Central a plus
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Familiarity with forecasting and reporting tools.
